Game Jobs

Game Time Job Descriptions

Time accumulated working during your own child's regular games can not be used  towards  your service hour requirements. Tournament games however will be accumulated towards service hours.

Penalty Box

Your primary job is to open and close the penalty box door for penalized players, and to ensure the penalized player(s) keeps himself under control. As for managing the door, please be attentive to the expiration of a penalty clock so that players quickly get back in the game. And, if a kid gets out of line, inform the player’s coach. If that doesn’t solve the problem, inform the referees and/or tournament director.  Dress warmly. Gender does not matter. NOTE: No person other than the Penalty Box attendant and penalized player(s) is allowed in the penalty box during a game. You are also to remain neutral. You are considered an off-ice official and need to control your emotions. There will be two people assigned to this task per game, one in each penalty box. After the game you will exit the penalty box, closing the door tightly behind you and proceed to the closest hockey net. Slide the net towards the wall, near the players’ bench.  After the Zamboni makes the first pass you slide the net to the boards and tip the net up against the boards so it does not freeze onto the freshly watered ice. You will then exit the rink making sure to close the door behind you. (No experience necessary)
