For the 2011 Hockey Season

There are (2) different teams offered for boys and girls 5 - 8 yrs of age who currently skate or want to learn to skate!!

Mini-Mites - Cost $50
Age 5-6

  1. In House games on Saturday mornings
    • 60-90 minutes of ice time
    • 15 minute games
  2. 1 or 2 jamboree/scramble weekend(s) in January and/or February
  3. 20 minute cross ice game at home on Tuesdays at end of practice time
  4. Hockey sense training at game time, no real structure to play
  5. No goal tenders
  6. Free stick for first year hockey players.
  7. Shawano jersey included for all hockey players.

Mites - Cost $75
Age 7-8

  1. New skaters can practice with Mini-Mites until end of December if skating ability warrants it
  2. 20 minute cross ice game on Tuesdays at end of first hour.
  3. Last 30 minutes of Tuesday practice
    • Teach full ice positioning
    • Teach rules of the game
  4. Saturday Cross ice games
    • Until end of January
    • 5-6 per season
  5. jamboree/scramble weekends in January/February
  6. Full ice controlled scrimmages in February , 3-4 games
  7. Semi-structured cross ice game, 2 forward 2 defense or 3 forward 1 defense to get a feel for different responsibilities
  8. Will use goal tenders-everyone will get a chance to try it either in a game or at minimum at practice for the week and during the practice time cross ice game.
  9. Free stick for first year hockey players
  10. Shawano jersey included for all hockey players.

Combined Practices

  1. Follow USA hockey ADM practice plans (allowing for 20 minute game time on Tuesday)
    • 6U for Mini Mites
    • 8U for Mites
  2. Tuesdays 5:30-6:30 Mini-Mites and Mites
  3. Tuesdays 6:30-7:00 Mites only
  4. Thursday 5:15-6:15 Mini-Mites and Mites
